Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord GOD, “That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of the LORD.
I live in Quebec. I despised living here when I was young, but I didn’t know why. All I knew is that everytime I left for a trip, short or long, I would always cry my way home.
Today I understand why. Even though most people would identity themselves as Christians, Quebec is a land of godlessness.
We have many, many churches everywhere, but they are empty.
However, our bars, restaurants and malls are filled with people. People that carry hostility in their hearts. A hostility that seems to be growing. At the mention of the word God , an uncontrollable rage becomes them.
Of all the places I have been, I find Quebec to be the saddest and darkest. In the whole of Canada, Quebec has the highest rate of child poverty, suicide, divorce, illegitimate births.
When I say the world is upside down, this is what I mean. No one even knows, they don’t even know how far away from their own humanity they are. They don’t even know how many demons they carry with them. They spend their days in sadness or anger, in addiction, in mistrust, thinking that this is life.
Our land needs help. We are in need of a spiritual revival, of a great awakening.
We need to learn how to smile, to laugh, to share , to love.
We need to learn to be grateful, to be compassionate and cooperative.
To value people.
To value food and water.
To value ourselves.
Heavenly Father, I pray for my people and for my land. May You fill this province with the Holy Spirit. May there be a revival in our land, where people will be released from the darkness, released from their slumber. Please Father, have mercy on us all.
